YES, YOU TOO CAN OWN A GENTLEMEN’S CLUB! Well not really, but you can buy shares of Rick’s Cabaret owner RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK), which is probably the next best thing (and a lot less work)! I first discovered the Rick’s Cabaret brand after visiting their Tootsie’s Cabaret location in Miami Gardens, one of my favorite gentlemen’s clubs of all time. As with all of my gentlemen’s club reviews, I’ve reviewed the club on a scale of one to five stars, with five being the best.
Location & Facilities – 5 Stars
Rick’s Cabaret is located in the Koreatown section of Manhattan and is less than three blocks from the Empire State Building, the Manhattan Mall and Penn Station. While I wouldn’t normally provide a club that has little to no parking five stars, this club is centrally located and is easily accessible by public transit, cab, Uber and the subway (and this is, of course, the center of Manhattan, where parking isn’t exactly overflowing…). Also, Rick’s Cabaret is one of the largest and most spacious gentlemen’s clubs in Manhattan, where high rents prohibit the building of massive gentlemen’s clubs like you’ll find in Las Vegas or Miami. Spanning four levels of entertainment, the club features four stages as well as champagne courts and skyboxes as well as a rooftop deck that offers an amazing view of the Empire State Building… a rare find considering that most gentlemen’s clubs don’t offer outdoor elements to their establishments. Claiming to be “bachelor party central,” the club certainly lives up to the name, as I had arrived late on a Friday afternoon but still early enough to see a bachelor party passing through as well as some beach balls flying around as the club was hosting its own Spring Break Week theme that weekend.
Staff – 5 Stars
When you first arrive at Rick’s Cabaret, as with many of the other gentlemen’s clubs in Manhattan (and a service I’ve only ever seen done in abundance in Las Vegas), you’ll be met by a suited, professional floor manager, who will escort you to your seat and send over a waitress for your drink order. Fred and Bryan, the floor managers on duty that afternoon, as well as waitress Amanda, did an exceptional job of catering to my food and beverage needs. I have to give special thanks to Jola, one of the club’s managers, who was kind enough to take time out of her busy schedule to provide me with a tour of the club and its amenities.
Food & Drink – 4 Stars
While I didn’t have a chance to check out the club’s 2nd floor steakhouse, which included a wide variety of appetizers, salads and entrée options befitting of any upscale restaurant, I thoroughly enjoyed a Stella Artois and Rick’s Signature Burger with fries on the first floor while I watched the dancers on the main stage perform.
Dancers – 5 Stars
It should come as no surprise that the dancers at Rick’s Cabaret were stunning, even for a late Friday afternoon shift but one where the crowd was filled with businessmen looking to unwind after a long week of work. While I didn’t have the chance to enjoy the company of any one particular dancer, I certainly wasn’t disappointed by the attractive dancing talent on stage during my visit.
Value – 4 Stars
As with most of the higher-end gentlemen’s clubs such as Rick’s Cabaret, the more money you have budgeted the more exciting and elaborate your trip will be. While the club offers some impressive specials and discounts, such as no cover until 7:00pm and $8.00 drinks until 8:00pm seven days a week, their impressive high-end bottle service will set you back quite a bit: the most expensive bottles include a bottle of Patron Platinum which will set you back $825, the top priced bottle of champagne, Belle Epoque Rosé Magnum, comes in at $2,000 and, for those for whom money is no object, a bottle of Louis the XIII cognac is a whopping $3,500!
Website & Social Media – 5 Stars
RicksNewYork.com features all of the information and resources that you’ll need to make your trip to the club a fun and exciting one, including their menus, party package information (with the big red words “So you’re getting married? SUCKER!” greeting you on the page… I love it!), pictures, event information and much more. The club also features links to their Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages so you can stay on top of all the current events at the club.
Although there is some strong competition amongst several of the high-end gentlemen’s clubs in Manhattan, Rick’s Cabaret offers a spacious establishment, quality service and a level of excitement that sets itself far apart from its competitors.
