The Low Down
I was tired. That’s the first thing that came to mind when I was preparing to write this review; a review conducted during the latter part of my quest to visit twelve of New York City’s finest gentlemen’s clubs within twelve hours (it turned out to be thirteen, I’m happy to say!). I arrived at The VIP Club at around 11:00pm on a Friday evening and, while I didn’t experience quite the “VIP” status I was expecting, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this club and would highly encourage my readers to check it out. As with all of my gentlemen’s club reviews, I’ve rated this club on a scale of one to five stars, with five being the best possible score.
Location & Facilities – 4 Stars
The VIP Club, a topless club, is located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, a few blocks from Madison Square Park and conveniently close to subway transportation. The club offers valet parking with nearby garage parking; although I often prefer subway, taxi or Uber/Lyft to save myself the headache of parking. The first thing I noticed as I entered this well-appointed one-floor club was the one main stage with NO POLE! I’m not opposed to a gentlemen’s club without a pole, as it’s interesting to see how the dancing talent performs without a pole to rely on, but something always feels off in a club without one. The other thing that struck me about this club was, despite the cleanliness and modern layout of the bathroom, there were newspapers (!) and a working payphone (!!!) in the men’s room.
Staff – 4 Stars
While I didn’t interact with any of the staff directly, except for the friendly door greeters, I did find the staff to be professional and respectful to all of the patrons.
Food & Drink – 3.5 Stars
The VIP Club offers a good selection of domestic and imported drinks as well as full bar service. The club also offers a sushi menu, so I decided to try out a couple of shrimp and avocado rolls for $5.00 each. For $5.00 the sushi was pretty much as good as you’d expect; good if you want a small snack, but nothing I’d go out of my way to visit the club for.
Dancers – 4.5 Stars
The diverse dancers were what really made this trip for me. I had two outstanding experiences during my visit; the first with Jasmine, a sexy half-Greek and half-Swedish dancer and Diana, a short-haired Ukrainian beauty.
Value – 4 Stars
I found the prices at VIP Club to be on average with most mid-level gentlemen’s clubs. The cover is $20.00 but it’s free to enter from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The club also offers happy hour from Monday to Friday with half-priced drinks from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Catering to a more affluent crowd, the club offers and impressive bottle service menu, with a heavy emphasis on Scotch and Whiskey selections.
Website & Social Media – 4 Stars
http://www.TheVIPClubNewYork.com offers all of the information you’ll need to have a successful visit to the club, including directions, pictures, a listing of weekly events and a link to their Facebook page. A few pics of their dancers and a drink and sushi menu added to their website would definitely help it achieve five stars.
While not quite “VIP” status, as the name implies, The VIP Club ranks in the top fifty percent of a crowded playing field of high-end gentlemen’s clubs in Manhattan, and one that I would be happy to visit again in the future.
