Reagan Reilly is the perfect example of what you can accomplish with hard word, dedication and a passion for your craft. Starting out a dancer at a gentlemen’s club about ninety minutes outside of Philadelphia, PA, Reagan (whose home club is Palomino in Las Vegas) has perfected her dance to the point of numerous exotic dancer awards and nominations, and certainly will be earning many more in the years to come.
C.J. Asher – First of all, thank you for this interview! Tell me a little about yourself, Reagan.
Reagan Reilly – I started dancing when I was eighteen years old. I decided to become a feature once I returned to work as a house dancer after taking time off. I decided if I was going to go back to being a dancer, I wanted it to have meaning, and for me that meant becoming a feature entertainer.
C.J. Asher – How did you choose your stage name?
Reagan Reilly – The name Reagan was an idea suggested by a guy I was dating. I added Reilly because it reminded me of a porn star name.
C.J. Asher – Most people don’t know that being a dancer is really hard, physically demanding work! What do you do outside of the club to relax, unwind and have fun?
Reagan Reilly – I enjoy spending time at home and not leaving the house. I love journaling, reading, and meditating. I also love drinking tea and coffee. Cruising in my car out into the desert listening to music.
C.J. Asher – What has been your favorite club to perform in so far?
Reagan Reilly – I love my former home club in Reading, Pennsylvania, Buck Rubs. It was where I was working when I started competing, and everyone always showed me so much support. They let me practice my shows and always cheered me on to keep moving forward. I always dance there when I’m visiting home. I get so much love and support its incredible.
C.J. Asher – What advice would you give to a woman who wants to become a dancer?
Reagan Reilly – The first thing I always say is make a pros and cons list. That’s what I did when I returned to dancing after taking time off to get sober. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get back into it. You need to look at what’s important to you, and how dancing might affect your life in positive and negative ways. It’s important to have goals, whether they’re inside or outside the industry. Have areas in your life where you find fulfillment and balance.
C.J. Asher – Besides the money, of course, what’s your favorite part about being a dancer?
Reagan Reilly – For me, the best part of dancing is that I can channel whatever kind of energy I’m feeling into dancing. Whether that’s high energy, lots of pole, upbeat vibe, or just slow and sexy. I love showing people exotic dance as an art and entertainment. That’s very important to me. I love seeing people’s reactions to advance pole moves or when I’m performing with a fun bubbly vibe and I can see they’re happy and entertained. You can tell when people genuinely enjoy and respect what you’re doing.
C.J. Asher – Who in adult entertainment is your idol, either a performer or someone else you look up to?
Reagan Reilly – Definitely Lacey Rain. She worked really hard to get where she’s at. She’s well known and respected. I also have so much gratitude for the people at ED publications. The work they do, and the passion to present features as artists and respected entertainers is just absolutely incredible. And Tony Batman.
C.J. Asher – What’s the most stressful part of your job?
Reagan Reilly – The most stressful part of the job is wondering if I’ll ever be able to save money. The more I make, the more I put right back into my career, so even when I’m doing great I’m still broke (laughs)!
C.J. Asher – What nominations and awards have you received?
Reagan Reilly – I’ve won Newcomer of the Year Nominee 2015, Miss Exotic Showgirl California, Miss Exotic Dancer Pennsylvania, Miss Exotic Dancer United States Finalist, Hottest Body Award, Miss Nude Rising Star Finalist and Miss Nude Wisconsin Grand Champion.
C.J. Asher – How has being a dancer impacted your personal and professional life? Do family, friends and co-workers know you’re a dancer and what do they think about it?
Reagan Reilly – Dancing has impacted my personal life in a positive way. I’m from a small town in Pennsylvania. I’m on a visit home right now and the amount of positivity and support I receive is unbelievable! I think it’s because I work hard to make exotic dance and pole dance a positive in my life, and I think people can see that. While here visiting, one of the girls at Buck Rubs thanked me for having a good reputation. That meant the world to me.
C.J. Asher – What do you see yourself doing after you retire from dancing?
Reagan Reilly – I think I’ll always be involved with dancing. If I retire from strip club dancing, I would still like to be involved with the industry. Maybe teaching other girls pole or dance. Owning a club. There are so many options.
C.J. Asher – What’s the nicest compliment or rudest comment you’ve ever received from a customer?
Reagan Reilly – the best compliments to receive are when people say “wow you are really good!” And you can tell they’re shocked and surprised. They didn’t think a stripper could really be an entertainer, or be so strong on the pole. I love leaving a good impression. The most negative thing someone has said, was a customer asked me if I had daddy issues, and asking if my father was a part of my life. Very rude. I believe when people are rude or say negative things, it’s because they are the ones in pain and need an outlet. So that’s on them, not me.
C.J. Asher – What advice do you have for a first-time customer at a gentlemen’s club?
Reagan Reilly – Advice to a customer…? Bring money (laughs)!
