PURCHASE, NY – The #HaveAHeart campaign in support of National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW) will launch this Sunday, April 23rd. Ongoing fundraising efforts will benefit RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.
According to the CDC, 1-in-8 couples in America are affected by infertility – a heart wrenching disease that strikes regardless of race, religion, sexuality, or economic status. Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of trying to become pregnant (six months if the woman is over age 35) or the inability to carry a pregnancy to live birth. Those who have experienced challenges in trying to build a family know all too well the emotional, financial, and physical toll infertility takes. Now in its second year, the #HaveAHeart campaign is a call to action for individuals across the country – whether they have experienced the impact of infertility first-hand or not – to join together and raise awareness.
The name #HaveAHeart was selected to inspire greater empathy for those facing the struggle. It is being used, along with infertility’s signature orange color, to identify and unify the movement across all platforms – from social media activations to team walks throughout the United States.
“The #HaveAHeart campaign is a far-reaching, comprehensive effort to help those facing the challenges of infertility. The positive impact it has on the cause is substantial,” said Rebecca Flick, Vice President, Communications and Programs for RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.
The #HaveAHeart campaign is supported by IntegraMed Fertility®, the leading network of fertility providers in North America. IntegraMed Fertility supports its provider network with clinical and business systems. Over the past 31 years, IntegraMed Fertility has continued to support the improvement of advocacy, awareness, and access to improved fertility treatments.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, established in 1974, is dedicated to ensuring that all people challenged in their family building journey reach resolution through being empowered by knowledge, supported by community, united by advocacy, and inspired to act. RESOLVE exists to provide, access to care, advocacy for coverage, access to free support and community, access to education, and awareness of all family building options.
