International manufacturer of FemCap and FemmyCycle support efforts to improve education, access and advocacy for women’s reproductive health

SAN DIEGO, CA- FemCap, Inc, a global leader in modern contraceptive and menstrual solutions, will launch its international campaign to promote women’s reproductive health at CYCLES + SEX, the inaugural gathering of thought-leaders and innovators to educate and celebrate the interconnectedness of menstrual, hormonal, reproductive and sexual health.

FemCap CEO and Medical Director Dr. Alfred Shihata, inventor of the FDA-approved FemCap cervical cap and FemmyCycle period cup, is excited about this unique opportunity. “FemCap is committed to improving the choices women have to improve their health. The solutions women have for birth control often have an impact beyond birth control. The same can be said for managing menstruation. We’ve committed to making products that address the unmet needs of women, and we must continue to partner with events, like CYCLES + SEX, that can help us reach the people we’re trying to mutually serve.”

“Information on sex, menstruation, birth and reproductive health is hard to find, intimidating, disparate and dated,” explains Ash Spivak, co-creator of CYCLES + SEX and reproductive health advocate. “This information couldn’t be more vital to our overall health and well-being. We believe the time is now to activate, innovate and educate people and their bodies. Including manufacturers in our activities, like FemCap, contributes to this goal.”

CYCLES + SEX happens Sunday, April 30 from 11:30am to 7:00pm ET at 404, 404 10th Avenue in New York City. Dr. Shihata will join other experts for a panel on Hormone Free Birth Control contributing to a well-rounded series of lectures, presentations and conversations on the most pressing issues in women’s reproductive health.
