Planned Parenthood Toronto launches new campaign asking newcomer youth to share their stories

TORONTO, CANADA – On Monday, May 1st, Planned Parenthood Toronto and its Supporting Newcomer Access Project (SNAP) launched its latest social media campaign #SNAPourStories, aimed at giving visibility to newcomer youth’s stories and experiences.

Throughout the month of May, #SNAPourStories will be sharing photos and stories from newcomer youth across Toronto around the topics of body image, self-esteem, relationships, family and sexuality/sexual health. We aim to create an online space where newcomer youth can engage with these topics in a safe and positive way.

Created by newcomer youth, #SNAPourStories highlights stories that we rarely hear; the challenges and successes that newcomer youth experience while navigating their new lives in Toronto. By centring these stories, newcomer youth can be seen and heard and we all stand to learn and grow.

#SNAPourStories will have its home on Planned Parenthood Toronto’s Instagram (@pptoronto), and profiles will be shared on Planned Parenthood Toronto’s Facebook (Planned Parenthood Toronto) and Twitter (@ppofto).

Planned Parenthood Toronto is a community-based, pro-choice agency that provides programs and services promoting healthy sexuality, reproductive health and informed decision-making to youth (aged 13-29) in the City of Toronto.  The SNAP project has been made possible through the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Government of Ontario.
