debramessingDebra Messing, Tyler Oakley, Ross Matthews, Zeke Smith and many others share their perspectives on equality from the red carpet, a sex-positive news, event and resource media organization, today released a new video from the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, where celebrities shared their thoughts and feelings about what equality means to them.

“Equality to me means not just fighting for yourself and people like you, but seeing inequality all around you and fighting that, too,” says YouTube personality Tyler Oakley, while Will & Grace actress Debra Messing defines equality as “Freedom, equity… utopia.” For Ross Matthews, host of the GLAAD Media Awards, it’s all about the basics, stating “it always seems so silly to me that we were fighting for our rights to just be treated like everybody else.” For Survivor’s Zeke Smith, it means “equal participation with equal dignity.”

“These aren’t just celebrities, these are people whose unique experiences and perspectives have put them in a position to make a difference,” says video producer and sex-positive journalist C.J. Asher. “As we enter into the 2017 Pride Month, I commend these celebrities for their efforts as well as the efforts by GLAAD and countless other individuals and groups around the world who are tirelessly working towards the advancement of equality.”

The full list of celebrities interviewed in the video: Bobby Brooks, CeCe Asuncion, Ross Matthews, Zackary Drucker, Levi Foster, Zeke Smith, Geena Rocero, Gavin Grimm, Alex Newell, Tyler Oakley, Btoo Allami, Nayyef Hrebid, Ian Daniel, Angelica Ross, Debra Messing, Billy Porter, Tony Marrero and Laith De La Cruz.
